Atami's Steam,
Century-oldTaste.

Founded in Atami Kamijuku during the early Taisho era.For over 100 years, we have crafted Onsen Manju with unchanged methods.Welcome with a cup of tea and our traditional hospitality.

Prologue — Enmeido in Atami

Prologue

Unchanging,
ageless,
small manju.

Atami flourished as a spa town in the Meiji era. Enmeido opened on the slopes of Kamijuku in the early Taisho period as a wagashi shop wreathed in steam.

Our preparation steps and the finish of strained bean paste have scarcely changed in over a century. Constancy is our greatest luxury.

Our Onsen Enmei Manju and Atami Sakura are crafted at our Kamijuku workshop behind the main shop, using gentle natural ingredients in a time-honored setting.

(No preservatives or additives)

Along the Itogawa, we cook bean paste and make yokan to the murmur of the stream. Though hotels and the city hall are nearby, hot spring water flows, birds sing, and a space kind to our sweets, our artisans, and our guests arises naturally.

Unchanging, ageless manju — like hot spring water, for each guest.

From our representative

RepresentativeNoriko Iwashita

Raised amid Atami's steam, I succeeded as the third generation. The finish of bean paste and the temperature of tea at the counter — we still honor unchanged methods passed down.

We also open to today's world: new town initiatives and hospitality for international guests. Constancy and openness — both carry our century-old noren forward.

"A manju, a cup of tea, a brief conversation — that is everything we do."
